Oogie Boogie Bash & Halloween Time at Disneyland
The Basics of Halloween Time – Halloween Time at Disneyland is a special way to enjoy the parks and if you’re a fan of fall and the color orange and pumpkins, you’ll be in heaven. The park, as always, is decorated to perfection and it keeps getting better every year. Halloween Time occurs from September 3 – October 31, 2021.
Halloween Time is a general term given for how both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure celebrate the fall season. There is no additional fee to enjoy the parks at this time. (The ticketed Halloween event includes an additional fee. More on that later.)
On days that include a Halloween event that evening, California Adventure is open to all guests just like any other day. When it’s time for the party to begin, guests without a party ticket will kindly be escorted out. At that time, you may walk over to Disneyland park to continue the fun if you have a park hopper ticket. Otherwise, visit Downtown Disney to shop or dine.
Attractions that Transform for Halloween Time – The Haunted Mansion is turned into a celebration of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. This attraction is called Haunted Mansion Holiday.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction transformation takes 2-3 weeks, so account for that timing during your trip planning. Classic Haunted Mansion is always closed the second part of August in preparation for this overlay, which begins 9.6.2019. The attraction will remain with the Jack Skellington theme until Holidays at the Disneyland Resort ends on January 6, 2020.
Guardians of the Galaxy – MISSION: Breakout! transforms into “Monsters After Dark” each day at 4:00pm.

Oogie Boogie Bash – Oogie Boogie Bash is a Disney Halloween Party at Disneyland Resort’s California Adventure (DCA) theme park in September and October. After being cancelled last year, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is officially back for 2021! Disneyland Resort just revealed its Halloween Time plans for this year, and Oogie Boogie Bash was included in the announcement. Beginning September 9 through October 31, 2021, this after hours event will be held on 25 select nights.
Tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash went on sale beginning July 13, 2021. Purchasing admission to this special event will allow you to enjoy Disney California Adventure for up to 3 hours before Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party begins. The party itself will run for 5 hours, with special Halloween-themed entertainment, attractions, character greetings, and more. Tickets to the 2021 Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party will almost certainly sell out in advance, so be sure to book ahead.
In addition, during the party, kids of all ages will be able to trick-or-treat their way through the park in their very best Halloween costumes. There will be immersive treat trails where guests will be able to grab their candy “under the watchful eyes of favorite characters, some familiar — some new!”
Looking for more spooky fun? Then you’ll want to check out the “Frightfully Fun Parade.” The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow leads this parade, and guests will get the chance to see all kinds of Disney characters and villains stirring up trouble in this special offering. Next, it’s time to head to Villains Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. In Villains Grove, you’ll find imagery inspired by the Disney villains. There will be special lighting, projections, sounds, and special effects that will immerse you in an enchanting world.
